A model will not download
Fenn needs its AI models before the corresponding features can work. A stalled download does not mean you need to erase your index.
Check these first
Section titled “Check these first”- Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection.
- Check that there is enough free storage for the download and installation.
- Keep your Mac awake while downloading.
- Read the error and retry the download from the setup or model screen.
A VPN, firewall, or restricted work network can block model hosting services. Try another trusted connection or ask your network administrator whether model downloads are allowed.
Check the chosen model
Section titled “Check the chosen model”Open Settings → Search & AI. Choose a model suitable for your Mac’s available memory and let the download finish.
The first use of a model may take longer while it is being loaded. Avoid starting several AI tasks while setup is still in progress.
Still failing?
Section titled “Still failing?”Contact support with:
- The model name and exact error.
- Your Fenn and macOS versions.
- Whether the download fails immediately or stops partway through.
- Your available disk space.
Ask support for current manual-download instructions if needed. Model packages change, so an old download archive may not match your version.
